Breaking Down Seattle Kraken 2025-26 Blue Carpet Looks
The epic highs and lows of Kraken fashion at the home opener
By Miracle Lucketti, edited by Charles Hamaker
Seattle, WA - Our Seattle Kraken broke a four-year losing streak and won their first home opener in franchise history Thursday, but the real story began before players even hit the ice as the team walked the blue carpet. With the NHL dropping its dress code this season, fans have been eager to see players showcase their own style - and what better way than a fancy catwalk lined with said fans? As a lover of bold fashion, I was excited to see what the guys chose. Here are some of my favorite looks from the blue carpet.
Buoy the Troll on the Seattle Kraken “Blue Carpet” ahead of the team's 3-1 season-opening victory against the Anaheim Ducks on October 9th, 2025, at Climate Pledge Arena. (Photos by Eric Hiller for Circling Seattle Sports)
First up: Buoy. The troll outdid everyone. Dressed in a tux and tails, Buoy shone. The hat (more on The Hats later), the icy blue accessories, and the bare feet - no one does it like Buoy. The troll loves the spotlight (rightly so) and never misses. Fans love their antics, and watching Buoy interact with them is always a blast.
Seattle Kraken defenseman Adam Larsson on the “Blue Carpet” ahead of the team's 3-1 season-opening victory against the Anaheim Ducks on October 9th, 2025, at Climate Pledge Arena. (Photos by Eric Hiller for Circling Seattle Sports)
Adam Larsson - When we spoke with him a few weeks ago, Larsson told us he'd probably be sticking with suits for game days, and so far, that checks out. He arrived in a classic black suit and tie, all smiles, polished and ready to go. I love a classic look, and Larsson always nails it. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Seattle Kraken defenseman Josh Mahura on the “Blue Carpet” ahead of the team's 3-1 season-opening victory against the Anaheim Ducks on October 9th, 2025, at Climate Pledge Arena. (Photos by Eric Hiller for Circling Seattle Sports)
Josh Mahura - I love some accessories, and Mahura came accessorized. Another player opting for black-on-black, he wore black slacks and a suede jacket, paired with a white undershirt. Shiny loafers, a watch, and an adorable quilted backpack completed the look. Mahura ascended the stairs to cheers from fans, and his responding grin and fistpump were beyond endearing. He walked the carpet smiling ear to ear, which, truly, is the perfect accessory.
Seattle Kraken defenseman Brandon Montour on the “Blue Carpet” ahead of the team's 3-1 season-opening victory against the Anaheim Ducks on October 9th, 2025, at Climate Pledge Arena. (Photos by Eric Hiller for Circling Seattle Sports)
Brandon Montour - There is no world in which Monty doesn’t end up on the favorites list. The man has style and isn’t afraid to show it. Montour proved fashion rules are made up by wearing white slacks after Labor Day, a tan blazer, and brown sneakers, all accessorized with sunglasses. Always put together, he has built a reputation as an easy-going charmer. On the carpet, he mingled with fans, signing and making small talk - Monty knows how to work the whole look. I know he’ll be delivering some top-tier looks this season.
Seattle Kraken forward Tye Kartye on the “Blue Carpet” ahead of the team's 3-1 season-opening victory against the Anaheim Ducks on October 9th, 2025, at Climate Pledge Arena. (Photos by Eric Hiller for Circling Seattle Sports)
Tye Kartye - Kartye arrived freshly shaved and looking years younger. I loved the light suit and brown loafers with the lighter blue undershirt. Who knew he could assemble a sharp outfit? Karts breezed down the carpet, chatting easily with fans. This look was a pleasant surprise, and I hope he brings out more color this season!
Seattle Kraken goaltender Matt Murray on the “Blue Carpet” ahead of the team's 3-1 season-opening victory against the Anaheim Ducks on October 9th, 2025, at Climate Pledge Arena. (Photos by Eric Hiller for Circling Seattle Sports)
Matt Murray - A potentially controversial addition to my favorite outfit list, Murray arrived looking right at home in the PNW, rocking a Carhartt jacket. Maybe it’s the Midwestern upbringing in me, but matching shirt and pants with a coordinating Carhartt and shoes screams "put together." His humble approach to fans was endearing. Usually intense and focused on the ice, Murray was conversational and grounded with fans, making a great first impression in Seattle.
Seattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer on the “Blue Carpet” ahead of the team's 3-1 season-opening victory against the Anaheim Ducks on October 9th, 2025, at Climate Pledge Arena. (Photos by Eric Hiller for Circling Seattle Sports)
Philipp Grubauer — Another player we know always looks sharp - I was looking forward to his season-opener look, and he did not disappoint. Opting to carry his jacket, Grubi also went black-on-black with a vest over a white button-down. He hasn’t shied away from color in the past, so here’s hoping we’ll see some more of that this season.
Seattle Kraken defenseman Cale Fleury on the “Blue Carpet” ahead of the team's 3-1 season-opening victory against the Anaheim Ducks on October 9th, 2025, at Climate Pledge Arena. (Photos by Eric Hiller for Circling Seattle Sports)
Cale Fleury - He may be contentious here, but Fleury arrived in a royal blue corded sweater and what appeared to be fancy black sweatpants, delivering the color I craved. He looked cozy yet put-together, and matching the blue sweater to the blue carpet won me over. Plus, any time I can wear sweatpants to work is a win in my book.
Seattle Kraken goaltender Joey Daccord on the “Blue Carpet” ahead of the team's 3-1 season-opening victory against the Anaheim Ducks on October 9th, 2025, at Climate Pledge Arena. (Photos by Eric Hiller for Circling Seattle Sports)
Joey Daccord - Joey was a must for this list. After his preseason Ferrari jacket, I expected great looks, and he delivered. Joey joked in line that he was in his “Lewis Hamilton era” after asking fans if they liked his “fit.” The green cropped jacket and black wide-leg jeans are very on trend, which I love. Joey has a great sense of humor and fashion, and I’m hopeful he’ll continue to showcase both this season.
Seattle Kraken forward Kaapo Kakko on the “Blue Carpet” ahead of the team's 3-1 season-opening victory against the Anaheim Ducks on October 9th, 2025, at Climate Pledge Arena. (Photos by Eric Hiller for Circling Seattle Sports)
Kappo Kakko - My favorite outfit of the night belongs to Kappo Kakko. Arriving in a three-piece navy suit and tie, Kappo looked like an intimidating kind of henchman. He was also one of the few players to wear socks, something that astounds me every walk-in. Wearing a wrist brace, Kappo looked intimidating and polished. I’m excited to see what other accessories Kaapo will wear this season, but I look forward to the loss of the brace most of all.
Of course, before I wrap up, I cannot simply praise these men; they deserve a bit of humbling, too.

The Hats - Hockey players love a hat. A giant ‘ol hat or a tiny newsboy cap, that’s irrelevant. It’s a love story for the ages, and the Kraken are not immune. Our Usual Suspects showed up rocking some silly hats, including Captain Jordan Eberle, Jared McCann, and Chandler Stephenson. Ebs and Stevie graciously took time off from their paper route to make the carpet, and Canner left his gig in a 1920s mafia bar to grace us with the world's largest hat complete with tiniest feather. I adore them all and can’t wait to see what other hideous hats make an appearance this season.
With one game under our belt, we’ve seen a whole lot of look so far. The boys and their closets have a lot to live up to this year, and I, for one, can’t wait to lovingly critique them from afar.
