UW Women’s Basketball Lands Commitment From Highly Touted 2027 Guard Jessie Moses

By Charles Hamaker

Seattle, WA - Head coach Tina Langley and the University of Washington’s women’s basketball team have landed a second recruit in the class of 2027, with today’s announcement that combo guard Jessie Moses has committed to UW. Moses, from Penn Valley, Pennsylvania, chose the University of Washington over schools like Rutgers, UCF, Michigan State, TCU, and others, despite having 34 D1 offers.

A 5-10 guard, Moses began her high school career with Westtown School in West Chester, Pennsylvania, for three years before transferring to IMG Academy in Florida last year. Moses dealt with a knee injury last year but returned to the court this summer. Many evaluation sites list her as a four-star, with some rating her as a five-star recruit.

Moses posted impressive stats and accolades at Westtown, averaging 19 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 3 APG, and 3 SPG on 50.3% from the field during the 2024-25 season. She was a 1,000-point scorer, three-time PAISAA State Champion, three-time FSL Champion, and 1st team All-FSL during her time at the Pennsylvania-based school. She’s also been praised for her timely shot-making, calm demeanor on the court, and the confidence with which she plays, especially in late-game situations.

Moses joins Ze’Ni Patterson, a 5-9 combo guard from Archbishop Mitty High School who committed on September 16th, as the two players in Washington’s 2027 class. Moses was the 30th-ranked prospect in the 2027 class by the 247Sports composite and ranked 28th by ESPN. Moses is regarded as a player who can score the ball at a high level from all levels, with strong passing ability. Her ability to push the pace and play with tempo is highly touted, envisioning that her style of play can fit in with what Tina Langley is building, something she talked about in an interview with Rivals.

“A lot of ball screens, a lot of down screens and a lot of just playing and reading, which I feel like is something that I do well in. I got a chance to watch practice. They did a little bit of skill work and then they were running through different concepts defensively and offensively and I just think that I can see myself fitting in. I think it’s really just how I play and Coach Tina [Langley] just does a great job with development and making sure like the girls know that she has them, regardless.”

One thing that’s been clear about this Washington program since Tina Langley took over as head coach is the culture she's built in the locker room. A tight-knit group that spends plenty of time together in and out of the gym, a key factor in the Huskies’ success over the last few years, has built chemistry in-season and off the court. That culture and family environment also played a role in Moses committing to Washington, as she discussed in her interview with Rivals.

“The moment I stepped on campus, it just felt like home. I felt that’s where I wanted to be and where I needed to be. I loved the coaches, the players and how everybody was like treating each other and how they treated me. They’re very welcoming and I feel like that’s something that I enjoyed while on the visit. Washington is super nice. The campus is great and the team is great, so I just feel like I can see myself doing really good things there and just growing on and off the court.”
