By Becca Weinberg

Seattle, WA - The 2025 NWSL Awards finalists were announced on Monday, with three Seattle Reign FC players earning selections. Defender Jordyn Bugg is one of five finalists for Defender of the Year, forward Maddie Dahlien is one of three finalists for Rookie of the Year, and goalkeeper Claudia Dickey is one of three finalists for Goalkeeper of the Year. Winners for all categories of the inaugural NWSL Awards will be announced on Wednesday, November 19th at 2:30 PM on ESPN2.

For Bugg, her first full NWSL season this year was completed with 24 starts in 25 total appearances, including one postseason start. She helped the Reign backline to the third-fewest games with multiple goals conceded (7) in the league and logged 2,151 minutes played, ranking third on the entire team. The 19-year-old showed poise and intelligence beyond her years, and was a consistent force in the Seattle defense this season. She earned her first call-up to the United States Women’s National Team in June, where she made her senior debut.

Dahlien was signed at the beginning of the year out of the University of North Carolina, and was one of four Reign players to appear in all 26 regular-season matches. She recorded four goals, four assists, and 31 shots in 2025, with all four goals coming in game-winning scenarios. She became the first player in NWSL history whose first four career regular-season goals were all match-winners. As a 21-year-old rookie, Dahlien blossomed into a versatile, dependable forward consistently involved in the Reign attack this season. She was frequently a member of the U-23 U.S Women’s National Team and attended five camps throughout the year.

Dickey was the only goalkeeper this year to play every minute of the 2025 season, leading the league in saves with 88 and setting a new single-season club record in the process. The 25-year-old faced the second-most shots in the NWSL this year with 343 but only allowed 29 goals. She recorded a career-high seven shutouts, bringing her career total to 13 and tying her for most in club history. Dickey was a brick wall in the net and made one game-saving block after another to propel the Reign to the postseason this year. She earned her first U.S. Women’s National Team call-up in January for training camp and was consistently selected throughout the 2025 season.

All three of Seattle’s nominees will be featured in a special awards ceremony celebrating the league’s top players next week. Fans can take part in the final round of voting by submitting a ballot through this link.
