Mariners Minor League Weekly Wrap Up: May 25th-31st, 2026
By Berlin Kofoed
Seattle, WA - The final week in the month of May was a rough one for minor league affiliates of the Seattle Mariners, as there were no series wins to speak of across the farm system. The Rainiers were swept, the Travelers had their series halted due to weather, but were trailing in it prior to that, while the other affiliates all lost their series or had a losing record over the past week. Outside the results, there were plenty of roster moves to note across the farm as the Mariners shuffled some players on the fringe of their roster, sending names back down to the Rainiers, while some exciting talent saw promotions at lower levels. Here is the Mariners’ minor league weekly wrap-up for May 25th through 31st of 2026.
AAA Rainiers vs Las Vegas Aviators (Athletics affiliate)
23-34 record, 5th (last) in the Pacific Coast League West division
Tacoma was swept, losing all six games in the series.
I know I’ve mentioned rough series before, but things just were not clicking last week for Tacoma. While the Mariners were busy sweeping the Athletics, things in Triple-A were quite the opposite.
These games were all close, so not complete shutout losses, but with Seattle constantly moving the Rainiers guys back and forth, it seems like they’re starting to feel that stress. Winning only a single game last week and then none this week is definitely showing those cracks of instability.
Miles Mastrobuoni started his rehab assignment with Tacoma, even though it's unclear what the Mariners are going to do once he’s ready to come back. In his first game back, he went 2-3 with a walk and a solo homer. The other two games he played in had less going on for him, leaving him with a batting average of .174 after he got a couple of strikeouts and no hits.
Fresh off a promotion, Peyton Alford pitched through his first two innings over two games. He got three strikeouts and allowed only two hits and two walks, with no runs scored, which kept his new ERA at a bright and shiny 0.00 to finish the series.
Rainiers notes
Connor Joe crushed his 2nd home run with Tacoma on Friday night, finishing 2-for-4 with a home run, RBI, and run scored…marked his 4th consecutive game with an extra-base hit...since joining the Rainiers on May 26, is slashing .360/.385/.600 with 3 doubles, 1 homer, 4 RBI, 2 runs scored, and a stolen base.
Leo Rivas reached base safely in all 3 games over the weekend to extend his on-base streak to 7 games... reached base at a .467 clip over the weekend with 5 walks...his 11 walks since joining Tacoma on May 21 are tied for the most in Triple-A over that span.
Jhonathan Díaz threw 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run (1 ER) on 3 hits and 2 walks with 1 strikeout in his Friday night start...marks his 5th start this season with 1-or-fewer runs allowed over 5.0+ IP.
LHP Peyton Alford tossed his second scoreless outing as a Rainiers pitcher Saturday night, allowing 1 hit while striking out 1 in 1.0 innings of work…has not allowed a run in 10 straight outings, of them coming with Double-A Arkansas.
Ryan Bliss recorded his 2nd 3-hit game of the season Friday night, finishing 3-for-5 with a season-high 2 stolen bases…has recorded a hit in 15 of the 21 games he has played in May.

Coming up for AAA Tacoma, the team heads out to take on the Sacramento River Cats (an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants) for a six-game series.
AA Travelers vs Frisco RoughRiders (Texas Rangers affiliate)
30-20 record, 2nd in the Texas League North division
Arkansas is currently behind in this series, two games to three. Inclement weather plagued the teams throughout this series, and they managed to play only 5 games (the final game is on June 17).
Throughout this last month, Reid VanScoter really put in the work, ticking his ERA down from 9.72 to 4.26 through 12.0 games spread across ten games. He’s been a key part of holding onto a lead or keeping a game from sliding even further into a loss, showing the strength he’d had a couple of seasons ago. I’m hoping to keep seeing this from him, as he’s always been a pitcher that I enjoy watching.
Once more, Kade Anderson showed some serious strength, and it’s starting to get to the point in the season where you have to wonder if he’s going to be promoted to Tacoma while the Mariners decide what they are going to do with him. He earned his fourth win after going five and a third innings, with two hits turning into no runs while striking out nine batters. Charlie Beilenson closed out the shortened game, earning his sixth save after keeping Frisco to two hits and zero runs while striking out four batters of his own.
Ryan Sloan was an absolute beast this week, and even though he’s only 20 years old, he’s definitely going to be facing the same logjam with Anderson here soon. In his start, he went six innings and didn’t even allow a single hit, facing the minimum and striking out 11 batters (a new record for him with his previous record being seven). He’s had a bit more ups and downs this season for sure compared to Anderson, which is definitely something that could be attributed to his age, but it’s starting to look like his control is growing steadier, making him even more of a lethal force as the season goes on.
Travelers notes
RHP Ryan Sloan was honored as the Texas League Pitcher of the Week for May 25-31. Sloan recorded six perfect innings on Saturday night while striking out 11 of the 18 batters he faced in his 9th start of the season. His six innings pitched and 11 strikeouts were both career highs. In his 9 starts this season, he is 1-2 with a 4.94 ERA. In 37.1 IP he has struck out 49 and walked only 10.
Caleb Cali logged a hit in all 4 games over the weekend to extend his hit streak to 5 games...owns a .929 OPS over his last 4 games with 2 doubles, a home run, 4 RBI, and 2 runs scored...his 10 XBH in May are T-8th most in the Texas League while his .407 OBP ranks 5th best (min. 100 PA) and ranks T-3rd in walks with 18.
RHP Charlie Beilenson racked up his 6th save of the season to close out the final 1.2 innings of Kade Anderson’s Friday start...Beilenson allowed no runs and 2 hits while striking out a season-high 4 batters...marks his 5th consecutive appearance with no earned runs.
LHP Kade Anderson (4-0, 1.43) logged 5.1 scoreless innings of work with 2 hits, no walks, and 9 strikeouts...is his 5th start of the season with 1-or-fewer runs allowed and 8+ strikeouts...is his 6th scoreless outing.
Michael Arroyo logged a hit in both of the games he played this weekend...hit .299 (20x67) in May.

Coming up for AA Arkansas, they head out to take on the Corpus Christi Hooks (an affiliate of the Houston Astros) for a six-game series.
High-A AquaSox @ Hillsboro Hops (Arizona Diamondbacks affiliate)
25-26 record, 3rd in the Northwest League
Everett loses the series, two games to four.
After a tumultuous series, it is going to be imperative for the Frogs to take some more wins from the Northwest League leader, Eugene Emeralds, next week. Not that I think they can take that lead, but they need to start showing that they stand a chance to fight back in the second half and shouldn’t be disregarded because of some unfortunate games. I know that things are absolutely going to get shaken up when the trade deadline comes closer, and when promotions inevitably happen around the All-Star break, but I’m hoping that the core players that remain can manage to keep showing the strength that they’ve definitely been showing throughout the season so far.
Felnin Celesten had a much slower week after his hitting streak, with two games where he went 0-5 without even a walk to get on base. His batting average is still one of the highest in the Northwest League (currently, he is 2nd with an AVG of .315), and he is tied as the hit leader with 53 through 46 games and 168 ABs.
Carlos Jimenez continues to hit, having a couple of multi-hit games this series and getting his only 2 stolen bases for the month in the same game where he went 2-4 with 3 RBI. Jimenez hasn’t been brought up much, and I think he’s being slept on a bit. He’s currently sitting at a .242/.374/.446 with 21RBI for the month of May. In the outfield (mostly RF), he’s also consistently making his plays and keeping opposing runners locked on their bases. At 23 years old, in his 3rd season outside of the rookie league, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets some opportunities to either get to Arkansas or, much like some of the other AquaSox over the season, pop up to Tacoma to fill in when Seattle shifts that roster around.
AquaSox notes
Catcher Josh Caron has been named the Northwest League Player of the Week. In the AquaSox 6-game series against the Hillsboro Hops, Caron hit .381 (8x21) with 4 extra-base hits, 6 RBI, 6 runs scored, and 3 stolen bases. His .531 slugging percentage in 2026 ranks 3rd in the Northwest League, while his 9 homers and 34 RBI this season rank 4th most.
Mariners No. 21 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Carlos Jimenez went 3-for-8 with a double, a home run, 2 walks, 4 RBI, and 2 runs scored over the weekend for a .500 OBP....his 39 RBI this season are tied for 4th most in High-A.
Felnin Celesten reached base 2+ times in all 3 games played this weekend for a .467 OBP over the 3 day stretch...logged 3 hits and 3 walks...ranks T-6th in High-A in hits (53) and 6th in walks (31) in the NWL in 2026.
RHP Christian Little closed out the game with 2.0 scorelss innings of relief on Saturday, allowing no base runners and striking out 1...his 0.90 ERA ranks 6th best in High-A (min. 20 IP) while his WHIP (0.80) ranks 8th
AquaSox Transactions
May 26th: RHP Brock Moore assigned to Arkansas Travelers from Everett AquaSox
May 26th: Everett AquaSox sent RHP Teddy McGraw on a rehab assignment to the Inland Empire 66ers
Coming up for High-A Everett, the team comes home to face off against the Eugene Emeralds (an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants) for a six-game series.
Single-A 66ers @ Lake Elsinore Storm (San Diego Padres affiliate)
22-29 record, 4th in the California League South division
Inland Empire loses the series, five games to one.
This was a very important series for the Inland Empire, and it’s unfortunate that they were only able to manage a single win against the 1st place Lake Elsinore. The 66ers are now eight games back in the California League South with their record, and they have a run differential of -39. It was a rough start to the year for the team, but they’re starting to lose the consistency to keep them at least in the running for a playoff spot. Some players are starting to come up from ACL Mariners, which might inject a bit of energy into this team as the 2nd half of the season comes closer.
In game three, Grant Jay had a phenomenal game, going 2-3 with a strikeout. Those two hits were also both solo home runs (Six total for the season), helping to boost his batting average after it started to dip at the end of last week and the start of this one. Currently, his average is the highest it’s been since the start of the season, back up to .232 and hopefully it continues to climb.
Mason Peters started the only game that Inland Empire won this week, and he was strong, striking out six of the 16 batters he faced through his 3.2 innings on the mound. He didn’t get a win (that would go to Will Armbruester after he went two and a third innings and not allowing a run while striking out three), but Peters will definitely start earning his wins once he regularly goes deeper into games.
In that same game, Ricardo Cova went 4-5, earning 3RBI and stealing four bases (16 total for the season so far). Cova has been fantastic this season, and he just continues getting on base and churning out runs to help his team. He’s been in low-A since the second half or so of 2024, and he’s just been getting stronger the longer he’s stayed there. This is someone I fully anticipate seeing come up to Everett when players begin getting promoted, and Everett can absolutely use his bat. It also looks like he’s been playing in different areas around the field with Inland Empire, with most of his time at 2B, and that utility possibility makes him a very alluring player as he gets promoted.
66ers notes
Lefty Mason Peters pitched 3.2 innings of shutout ball in his Friday night start, allowing only 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6 batters.
Korbyn Dickerson went 4-for-7 over the weekend with 1 walk, 2 runs scored and a stolen base...led the 66ers offense on Friday night with his first 3-hit game of the season...owns an 8-game hit streak (5/22-c), batting .353 (12x34) over the stretch.
Aiden Taurek bat .455 (5x11) over his last 3 games, logging 2+ hits in 2-of-3 and reaching base safely 2+ times in all 3...his .324 avg. (33x102) in May leads the team, while his 54 total bases are tied for 7th most in the California League over that span, and his 18 runs scored are T-12th.
66ers Transactions
May 26th: Everett AquaSox sent RHP Teddy McGraw on a rehab assignment to Inland Empire 66ers
May 31st: LHP Cole Cheatham assigned to Inland Empire 66ers from ACL Mariners
Coming up for Single-A Inland Empire, the team heads out to take on the San Jose Giants (an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants) for a six-game series.
Rookie-level: ACL Mariners
11-10 record, 2nd in the Arizona Complex League West
The baby Mariners played five games this week, winning two and managing to stay above .500 with a May 30th 7-0 shutout.
Roberto Perez was named the MiLB ACL Pitcher of the Week after not allowing a single runner to score and striking out 10 batters through his combined six innings on the mound last week. In the last game of the week, he only allowed a hit while striking out seven of the 12 batters he faced. If he’d gone through five innings, he would have gotten that win that he definitely deserved after that game. He started the season with an ERA of 9.00, and it’s been slowly ticking back down with every game he’s played. After the May 30th game, it currently sits at 1.93 through six games and 14.0 innings.
Despite allowing four runs (Three earned) through three innings on May 28th, Juan Cazarez struck out nine total batters out of the 15 he faced. A couple of homers didn’t really help him, and he earned that loss, but when his pitching was controlled, he was sitting out the ACL Padres with ease. Wuilliams Rodriguez also struck out five batters, allowed two walks and a hit, through his two innings in that same game.
ACL Mariners notes
HP Roberto Perez earned Arizona Complex League Pitcher of the Week honors after throwing 2.0 perfect innings with 3 strikeouts out of the pen on May 25 and then making his 1st start of the season on Saturday, logging 4.0 innings of 1-hit ball with no walks and 7 strikeouts. Over 6 appearances and 1 start this season Perez owns a 1.93 ERA (3 ER, 14.0 IP) with a 0.86 WHIP and 16 strikeouts.
The DSL Mariners’ season begins on June 1st vs the DSL Arizona Red.
