Seattle Tempest Announce Coaching Staff for 2026 WUL Season
By Becca Weinberg
Seattle, WA - Following a third-place finish in the Western Ultimate League (WUL) last season, the Seattle Tempest have announced that three out of their four coaches will be returning for the 2026 season. The team will continue to be led by head coach Deb Scheibe, an Ultimate Hall of Fame member and pivotal part of the Tempest’s championship runs dating back to 2022. Scheibe will be joined by co-head coach Raye Yang and assistant coach AnnaMaria Pape, both of whom supported the team as coaches in 2025. Ximenna Hofsetz will not return to the coaching staff this season.
“Our Tempest coaching staff was the heart of our program this past season and I can’t wait to see how they develop the team this upcoming season. I love collaborating with Annamaria, Deb, and Raye towards making Tempest a great team that Seattle is proud of.”

The Tempest played their first WUL season in 2021 and have since set a championship standard for Seattle ultimate frisbee. The team secured back-to-back WUL Championships in 2022 and 2023, and after failing to qualify for the playoffs in 2024, returned last season with a promising third place finish at WUL Championship Weekend.
The Tempest coaching staff will continue to foster a competitive environment for development and excellence, beginning with hosting their annual team tryouts on December 27th.
