A match that saw our Seattle Reign FC leading by three goals with 20 minutes left turned into a disaster, as the visiting Chicago Stars scored three goals to force a split in the points on an otherwise pleasant night at Lumen Field. Here are a few takeaways from our vantage point in the press box following one of the more stunning draws in recent memory for the Reign.

‘We Were Cruising Until We Weren’t’: Reign Lose Three-Goal Lead In Home Draw Against Chicago Stars
A three-goal lead and three “super substitutions” late into a home match against the struggling Chicago Stars seemed to have our Seattle Reign FC in great position for a bounce back victory. Things changed after the 70th minute, as the Stars scored three unanswered goals to leave the Reign wondering “what just happened” with a 3-3 draw.

Reign find finishing touch, net five goals in victory over Red Stars
The OL Reign returned home to Lumen Field and NWSL regular season play with a 5-2 victory over the Chicago Red Stars, powered by braces scored by forward Bethany Balcer and midfielder Jess Fishlock. Although the Reign had miscues on their two goals allowed to Chicago, they were able to dominate the Red Stars.
