Mariners Minor League Weekly Wrap-Up: July 27th-August 2nd, 2026

Seattle, WA - The week of July 27th through August 2nd for minor league affiliates of the Seattle Mariners was a much more positive one than the prior seven days, with three teams taking winning records over the span, compared to just two who lost their respective series. Some star prospects continued their positive 2026 campaigns, while a few big league names on rehab assignments hope to help the Mariners at the big league level soon. Here’s a Seattle Mariners minor league recap for the week of July 27th through August 2nd, 2026.
AAA Rainiers vs Sacramento River Cats (San Francisco Giants affiliate)
(45-63, 5th in PCL West)
Tacoma loses the series, one game to five.
This was an incredibly rough series for Tacoma in a pretty rough season. They started the week off strong with an 8-4 win, but then they couldn’t seem to get it together for the remaining five games. They dropped a game 1-10 and another 1-9, and just kept racking up the strikeouts. It was so rough to keep watching the team struggle again and again during the week. While they aren’t yet eliminated from making it to the postseason, they’re 13.0 games back from first place in the PCL West with a 12-21 second-half record.
Brendan Donovan started his Tacoma rehab assignment and, in his first game, went 2-5 with a home run and no strikeouts. After a rough go in Everett, it’s nice to see him getting going a bit more back into the groove that Seattle was used to seeing when the season started. He only appeared in games 1 and 2 this week, but it was nice to see him get hits in both. Hopefully, he brings that to the Mariners when he makes his return.
Since his promotion to Tacoma, Michael Arroyo has been fitting right in. He currently has a line of .333/.378/.540 with the team, and is already showing signs that he is determined to make his promotion to Seattle as soon as the team is ready. Lazaro Montes has also been stepping into the team perfectly, especially with his throwing strength and ability to get runners out. I’ve enjoyed his growth so much over his time with the organization, and I hope we get to see more from him as he gets closer to his inevitable debut.
Gabe Mosser had a really varied week, starting in game 1, where he allowed 0 runs over 4.0 innings, and ending in game 6, where he also went 4.0 innings but watched 5 hits turn into 3 runs, which earned him his 5th loss (5-5). He’s been pretty reliable this season, managing to go through the 7th inning once but regularly going through at least 5. He’s definitely had some unfortunate games this season, but he still sits at an ERA of 4.59 through 96.0 innings, with 71 strikeouts.
Rainiers notes
Congrats to Ryan Bliss for being named the Mariners Minor League Defensive Player of the Month. Last month, he finished with a fielding percentage of .988 through all of his positions played, but a perfect 1.000 through his 78.0 innings as a shortstop.
LHP Jhonathan Díaz tossed a season-high 101 pitches in 5.2 innings of work on Saturday, allowing 3 runs (3 ER) on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4.
Marks his 10th start of the season with 3-or-fewer runs allowed over 5.0+ IP.
Peyton Alford recorded 2.0 scoreless innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 1 batter on Friday.
This is his 3rd scoreless outing over 2.0 IP with Tacoma (5/26-c) and his 4th such outing with 1-or-fewer runs allowed.
Michael Arroyo recorded 2 multi-hit performances over the weekend (7/31 & 8/2), finishing the weekend 4-for-12 with a double and 1 RBI.
Batted .342 (27x79) over 18 games in July with Tacoma (7/7-7/31), ranking 14th in Triple-A over that span (min. 75 AB)...his 29 hits since July 7 rank 7th most in Triple-A while his .918 OPS ranks 13th-best (min. 75 AB).
Connor Joe reached base safely in all 4 of his PA on Saturday, finishing 2-for-2 with a pair of walks and a run scored.
Has reached base in 9 of his last 10 games with 1+ hits in 7 to own a .306 (11x36) batting average with 9 runs, 1 homer, 5 RBI and a .444 OBP since July 21.
Spencer Packard logged his 12th multi-hit game of the season on Friday, going 2-for-3 with a walk...reached base twice via 2 walks and scored a run on Saturday.
Owns a .391 OBP since the start of June, ranking 17th-best in the PCL over that span.
Lazaro Montes has recorded a hit in each of his last 4 games and in 14 of his 20 games played with Tacoma.
He’s batting .253 (21x83) with a .458 SLG over that span...recorded his 4th outfield assist on Friday.
His 4 outfield assists lead Triple-A since the start of July.

Arkansas wins the series, four games to two.
This was a strong week for Arkansas, with the team currently 2nd in the TEX North standings, just behind the Tulsa Drillers overall. For the second half, they’re behind Tulsa and the Springfield Cardinals, 6.0 games out of taking first and possibly clinching a postseason appearance.
Hunter Fitz-Gerald continues to have an incredible season, with a career-high 85 RBI and 26 HR. In his last three seasons combined (181 total games), he managed only 15 total homers. Just shy of 100 games so far this season, Fitz-Gerald has demolished that HR record with so many games left to go. If he doesn’t get a promotion to Tacoma before the season is out, he’s definitely going to be starting there in the 2027 season.
It was rough seeing Kade Anderson hit his pitch limit before hitting 5.0 innings to get another win. Still, after only allowing 2 hits and 2 walks through his 4.2 innings, Michael Hobbs (fresh back from rehabbing) stepped in for 2.0 innings to only allow 2 runs and earn his first win for 2026. The pitching in Arkansas continues to be so powerful, something that Tacoma would love to see, but I fear that the batting in the PCL might just destroy them. It’ll be so interesting to win once they eventually get promoted.
A constant strength this season has also been catcher Aaron McKeithan, who currently has a .299/.433/.351 slash line, going 3-5 with 2R and only a lone strikeout in game 3 this last week. He might only have a single home run, but it looks like he’s really been fantastic throughout this entire season. He’s had 30 games as the catcher this season, and is rocking a fielding percentage of .996, with only a single error through his 250.1 innings.
Travelers notes
Kade Anderson tossed 4.2 scoreless innings, allowing only 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4 batters.
Marks his 11th scoreless outing this season to buffer his Double-A-leading (min. 75.0 IP) ERA of 1.20 (11 ER, 82.1 IP).
Also leads in K/BB (9.92) and WHIP (0.66) while ranking 3rd in strikeouts (119).
Closed out July with a 1.15 ERA (2 ER, 15.2 IP), ranking 8th-best in Double-A (min. 15.0 IP), 20 strikeouts, 2 walks for the 7th-best K/BB (10.00) in Double-A and a Double-A-leading 0.45 WHIP.

Put together his 4th game with 2+ homers of the season on Friday and his 6th 3-hit outing of the season on Saturday.
Finished the weekend 7-for-15 with 6 runs, 1 double, 2 homers, and 6 RBI.
Owns a 11-game hit streak (7/22-c), batting .388 (19x49) with a 1.188 OPS over the stretch.
His season OPS (.916) ranks 6th-best in Double-A (min 300 PA) while ranking 11th in runs (65) and 3rd in RBI (85) this season.
Ryan Sloan recorded 4.2 scoreless innings with 2 hits, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts on Saturday.
Marks his 6th consecutive start with 2-or-fewer runs allowed over 4.2+ IP since June 13.
Owns a 1.44 ERA (5 ER, 31.1 IP), ranking 4th-best in Double-A over that span, with 37 strikeouts, 2 walks, and a 0.80 WHIP, ranking 3rd-best over the stretch.
Josh Caron has reached base 2+ times with at least 1 hit in each of his last 4 games.
On Saturday, he recorded his first multi-hit game, both doubles, since being promoted to AA Arkansas.

Everett loses the series, two games to four.
Despite back-to-back wins that got things going for Everett, those were the only bright moments as they watched the next four games slip away. I had been so impressed in game 2 when they only struck out twice (while SP Chase Centala earned 6K himself through his 4.1 innings), but immediately that hope was shot down when the Frogs were struck out 16 times in game 13. The Hops starters for game 3 (Rio Britton) and game 5 (David Hagaman) both put up career-high strikeouts of 10 against Everett. They really had a chance in game 4, pushing the game into the 11th inning with a 2-2 tie, but getting walked off and with Everett earning 14 total strikeouts really hurt the team.
Relief pitcher Sam Whiting had a solid couple of appearances this series, going 3.0 total innings with 2 hits, 1 walk, and 0 runs. He didn’t put up any strikeouts, either, but he came in at some pretty clutch moments to attempt to hold the games together for the remaining pitching staff. He lowered his season ERA to 4.94 with a 3-0 record through his 16 games/23.2 innings pitched so far in 2026. Whiting has been on many teams in his 4 years pitching professionally, and this is the first season in which he’s remained in one place. I think that’s really been showing how solid he can be when he is allowed to relax and get comfortable with one team.
Everett is still very much in the running for the second half, staying so close with Spokane. If Everett can have a great week next week while Spokane faces off against the Eugene Emeralds, then maybe they can get some distance and really think about clinching the postseason.
AquaSox notes
Congrats to Luke Stevenson for being named the MiLB Player of the Month (July)! He got his first multi-homer game on July 28th in a 3-2 win for the Frogs. He leads the league in home runs, doubles, and RBIs, stepping out of the month with a .250/.412/.489 slash line.
Congrats to Reid Easterly for being named the Mariners Minor League Reliever of the Month. Easterly had an ERA of 0.57 this month, only allowing 1 run through his 15.2 innings pitched while also racking up 14 strikeouts.
Congrats to Korbyn Dickerson for being named the Mariners Minor League Baserunner of the Month. Between both Inland Empire and Everett, he went 9-for-11 with stolen base attempts last month. In his 2nd game with Everett after his promotion, he recorded 2 stolen bases, his 3rd career game with multiple stolen bases.
In his Friday night start, Colton Shaw pitched 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs (2 ER) on 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4 batters.
He has allowed 3 or fewer earned runs over 5.0+ IP in 9 of his 17 starts this season.
Christian Little made his 30th relief appearance and his 22nd scoreless appearance of the season on Friday, allowing only 1 walk and striking out 3 batters over 2.0 innings of work.
Marks his 11th outing with 2.0+ innings of work.
Aiden Taurek recorded a hit in each of his 2 games played over the weekend, logging his 3rd multi-hit game with the AquaSox on Sunday.
Finished Sunday’s game 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.
Has reached base safely in 7-of-9 games played in High-A (7/21-c), batting .323 (10x31) with 6 runs, 3 doubles, 4 RBI and a .432 OBP over that span.
Korbyn Dickerson has recorded a hit in each of his last 4 games (7/29-c) with a hit in 7 of his 10 games played with Everett.
He is batting .250 (11x38) with 2 doubles and 2 home runs for a .500 SLG since being promoted to High-A on July 20.

Inland Empire wins the series, five games to one.
What an incredible week for Inland Empire, with both promotions and the new drafts already showing their strengths. Making his Inland Empire debut in game 2 was Dylan Wilson, and through his 2.0 innings, he allowed 2 hits and 2 walks to result in 0 runs while also striking out 3 batters. Scott Rouse took the win in that game after going a whopping 6.2 innings, striking out 5 batters and only allowing 2 runs off of 4 hits and 2 walks. Through 53.1 innings, Rouse sits at an impressive 1.01 ERA, with 48 strikeouts and only 6 earned runs (14 runs total). This is Rouse’s first professional season after being signed from free agency in May, and he’s definitely proving to be a valuable addition to the organization.
Starlin Aguilar has been really shining, especially with his 4-5, 1R, 4RBI (40) game 5 appearance. He also had two doubles (14) and a home run (6), pushing his slash line to .275/.330/.456 through his 58 games. Aguilar is only 22 years old, and this is his 6th season in the Mariners organization. I really can’t wait to see him continue to get stronger as he gets chances to work with more coaches and players he might not have seen in the rookie league.
In Henry Ford’s first professional hit, he hit a 3-run home run in game 6, firmly showing why he was an important draft pick for the Mariners to get. That was his only hit, but that hardly matters when he’s putting up the most RBI for anyone on the team that day (and in a game where Inland Empire won 11-4).
Inland Empire is 6.0 games behind the Ontario Tower Buzzers in the second half, which is pretty impressive given how up-and-down the team has been all year. I do hope they’re able to overtake Ontario, but even if they can’t, it was great to finally see them start to step up as the team was reshuffled with promotions. There are so many talented guys at that level that are going to be fascinating to watch as they rise through the ranks in upcoming seasons.

Congrats to Estevan Moreno for being named the MiLB California League Player of the Week. This last week, he put up 10 hits, 4 home runs, and added 11 RBI to his season total of 53. He’s been amazing to watch this season, and earning this award for his 2nd time this season comes as no surprise.
Mariners No. 19 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Jackson Steensma opened Friday night’s game with 2.0 scoreless innings, allowing 1 walk, 2 hits, and striking out 4 batters in his 7th start of the season.
Owns a 0.44 WHIP over 26.0 IP in 10 appearances (7 starts) this season, ranking 9th-best in Class-A (min. 25.0 IP).
Connor Dykstra recorded back-to-back multi-hit games on July 29-31, with a 2-hit night, including his 2nd homer of the season (last: July 29).
Owns a 12-game on-base streak (7/1-c), batting .300 (12x40) with 7 runs, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 2 homers, 6 RBI while reaching base at a .431 clip and slugging .575 over that span.
Ranks 14th in OBP in the Cal League and 15th in SLG (min. 40 PA).
Mariners round 5 pick of the 2026 MLB Draft (162nd overall), Hayden Yost recorded a hit in his first professional at-bat after entering the game in the 6th inning as a defensive substitution on Sunday.

Starlin Aguilar recorded his first 4-hit outing of the season on Saturday...finished 4-for-5 with 2 doubles, 1 homer, and 4 RBI.

DSL Mariners Wrap-Up
(27-17, 4th in DSL Southwest)
The DSL Mariners dominated this week, winning all five of their games.
With roughly two weeks to go before the DSL postseason games, it’s great that the DSL continues to show such strength. The same players continue to show they are ready to advance in the system (probably once the ACL returns next season), and I firmly believe that Gregory Pio and Juan Rijo will be fantastic additions as they get older.
After a couple of really rough appearances early in July, Adalberto Vallenilla has really started to lock in, earning his 2nd win after the August 1st game where he came in for 0.2 innings at the tail end of the game and only allowed one inherited runner in a bases-loaded situation to score on a hit. This is Vallenilla’s first season, and I’m really curious how he’ll be able to lock in as he continues in the league.
DSL Mariners notes
Congrats to Adan Vallenilla for being named the Mariners Minor League Pitcher of the Month. Through 5 games started last month, he’s holding onto an ERA of 1.53, with only 3 earned runs, 24 strikeouts, and a 0.91 WHIP.
Elias Perez reached base safely 2+ times in all 3 games over the weekend to extend his on-base streak to 37 games (6/1-c)...his on-base streak is tied for the longest in the DSL.
His 49 walks over the season rank 2nd-most in the DSL, while his .507 OBP ranks 9th (min. 120 PA).
Mariners No. 20 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Gregory Pio reached base safely in all 3 games over the weekend.
Logged an RBI-single on Friday, walked twice with an RBI and a run on Saturday, and walked once on Sunday...owns a .820 OPS over 37 games played this season.
Mariners No. 10 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Juan Rijo owned a 5-game hit streak (7/25-7/31) before snapping it on Monday.
Reached base twice on Friday via a walk and an RBI-single...finished July with a .455 OBP.
The ACL Mariners have wrapped up their 2026 season. They finished 1st in the ACL West with a 36-24 record. Here are some notes on their top performers from this season.
Mariners No. 9 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Yorger Bautista played in all 60 games of the season, batting .283 (63x223) with 40 runs, 11 doubles, 4 triples, 9 homers, 47 RBI, a .345 OBP and a .489 SLG.
Ranked 5th in hits (63), 6th in total bases (109), T-6th in homers (9), and 6th in RBI (47) in the ACL this season.
INF Diego Contreras led the team with a .327 OBP (54x165) with 33 runs, 11 doubles, 1 triple, 4 homers, and 26 RBI while reaching base at a .408 clip and slugging .479 over 49 games.
Ranked T-15th in hits (54) and 12th in batting average (min. 100 AB) in the ACL this season.
OF Kelvin Alcantara batted .297 (54x182) with 41 runs, 9 doubles, 9 homers, and 29 RBI while owning a .404 OBP and a .495 SLG over 58 games.
Ranked T-14th in runs (41), T-15th in hits (54), T-6th in home runs (9), T-12th in RBI (39), and T-21st in walks (31) in the ACL this season.
RHP Roberto Perez went 2-0 over 13 games (8 starts), owning a 2.56 ERA (13 ER, 45.2 IP) with 42 strikeouts to 10 walks (4.20 K/BB) and a 0.96 WHIP.
Ranks 10th in ERA (2.56), 13th in K/BB (4.20), and 3rd in WHIP (0.96) in the ACL (min 10 G).
