Mariners Minor League Weekly Wrap-Up: July 20th-26th, 2026

Seattle, WA - It was a rough week of baseball for the minor league affiliates of the Seattle Mariners from July 20th through 26th, as no affiliate recorded a winning week and only one team managed to split its series. While things continue to remain frustrating at the big league level for the Mariners, there wasn’t any particular team success for fans to look towards on the minor league side of things. While the team success wasn’t there, plenty of excitement remains for individual performances down on the farm, with rehab assignments continuing and top prospects still shining bright. Here’s our weekly Mariners minor league recap for July 20th through 26th, 2026.
AAA Rainiers @ Reno Aces (Arizona Diamondbacks affiliate)
(44-58, 4th in PCL West)
Tacoma loses the series, two games to three.
This was a rough series for the struggling Tacoma team. They currently sit 5th in the PCL West, despite having some strong players. Pitching has been the biggest issue for them all season, and that, combined with players constantly coming and going from the Mariners, who are constantly changing the structure, has left them mostly struggling to stay afloat. It’s unfortunate to see since they’ve been strong in the past, but the mid-season shakeup has finally begun, so perhaps the new additions to the team can revitalize them for the remainder of the year.
Michael Arroyo and Lazaro Montes both already have 3 home runs with Tacoma, just further adding to the power they were showing in Arkansas. These two have been so much fun to watch grow within the system, both at the plate and defending in the field. A struggle that Montes had when I witnessed him in Everett was controlling his massive throws from the outfield, and in Tacoma, it looks like he’s locked in and making the connections needed to either get an out or hold a runner.
Making his Triple-A debut was Reid VanScoter, and in his first inning pitched, he fully blanked Reno with only a single hit and 2 strikeouts. His promotion was well warranted, especially after injuries sidelined him and led to a rocky 2025 season. VanScoter, alongside Charlie Beilenson with his promotion, are going to provide some much-needed bullpen support for Tacoma, and it’s exciting thinking that one of them might get to make a debut with how the Mariners bullpen has become such a rotating door.
Rainiers notes
Rob Refsnyder continued his minor league rehab assignment (right knee inflammation) with the Rainiers over the weekend, going 3-for-15 with a home run and 3 RBI across 3 games as the designated hitter.
Across 7 games played during his rehab assignment (7/18-c), he is hitting .207 (6x19) with 4 runs, 1 HR, 3 RBI and 3 walks.
Ryan Bliss recorded multiple hits in all 3 games over the weekend, going 6-for-15 with a run, double and 2 RBI while extending his 17-game on-base streak (7/1-c).
Across 17 games in July, he is batting .395 (30x76) with 16 runs, 8 doubles, 1 triple, 2 HR, 13 RBI, 6 walks, and 4 stolen bases, reaching base at a .459 clip while slugging .605 (1.064 OPS).
The Rainiers slugged 5 home runs in Saturday’s 11-13 loss, including solo home runs from Mariners top prospects Michael Arroyo (Mariners No. 5, MLB Pipeline) and Lazaro Montes (Mariners No. 4, MLB Pipeline).
Since being promoted to Triple-A on July 7, Arroyo is batting .328 (22x67) with 14 runs, 5 doubles, 1 triple, 3 home runs, 16 RBI, 4 walks and 2 stolen bases across 15 games.
He has recorded multiple hits in 7 of those 15 games and has recorded an RBI in each of his last 4 games (7/23-c).
Montes, who was also promoted on July 7, is batting .258 (16x62) with 10 runs, 8 doubles, 3 home runs, 8 RBI, and 9 walks across 15 games with Tacoma.
He has also recorded a double in 4 consecutive games (7/23-c).
Stuart Fairchild also homered in Saturday’s game and is batting .344 (11x32) with 3 doubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs, 6 RBI, 6 walks and 2 stolen bases for a .488 on-base percentage while slugging .844 (1.332 OPS) across 9 games since the Mariners signed him to a minor league contract on July 5.

AA Travelers vs Tulsa Drillers (Los Angeles Dodgers affiliate)
(53-43, 3rd in TEX North)
Arkansas splits the series, three games to three.
Someone I don’t think I’ve talked much about this season, but who has been just killing it, is Charlie Pagliarini, and his games this week were no different. Coming out of this series, Pagliarini sits at a slash of .268/.394/.500 with 18 home runs. While he mostly plays the infield, he’s done some time in the outfield to craft himself into a wonderful utility player with fielding percentages of .991 (1B) and .966 (2B) for the 2026 season. This has definitely been the strongest year of his career, quickly catching up to all of his 2025 stats with so many weeks still to go for Arkansas.
From the Everett AquaSox promotions, Jonny Farmelo was the first to get a Double-A home run. He got it in game 4, which was also the nearly-perfect game where the Travs dominated with an 8-0 win. In addition to his homer, he got a double, 2R, and 4RBI. He got another home run in game 6’s 8-6 win, this time with 2 runners on, bringing his total to 3 RBI in that game. It seems like he’s not having any problems with the promotion so far. It’s great to see him have such a strong year after struggling with injuries since getting drafted.
The pitching for Arkansas has been so strong this season. With Kade Anderson’s 115 strikeouts through 77.2 innings pitched (2nd in the league behind Adam Serwinowski from the Tulsa Drillers, who has 116 through 94.2 innings), Nico Tellache racking up the most innings pitched for the team and 2nd in the league with 95.0 total through 19 games, and Ryan Sloan solidly locking up the Saturday games with a 2-2 record and a current ERA of 3.74, they’ve been so much fun to watch. I would love to see them get to help out in Tacoma, but I always worry that pitching in the PCL will destroy their momentum. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how they get shifted around in the off-season if none of the pitchers get promoted to Tacoma or to the Mariners before 2026 is over.
Travelers notes
MLB’s top pitching prospect (MLB Pipeline) Kade Anderson made his first start since the MLB Futures Game on Friday, tossing 5.0 perfect innings with no walks and 7 strikeouts.
His performance earned him Texas League Pitcher of the Week recognition, marking the 5th time he has won the award this year.
Across 15 starts this season, he owns a 1.27 ERA (11 ER, 77.2 IP) with 115 strikeouts to 10 walks allowed while limiting opponents to a .151 average (40x265).
He has not allowed an earned run in 10 of those 15 starts
Among all qualified minor league pitchers, he ranks 1st in K/BB (11.50), 1st in K% (41.7%), 2nd in WHIP (0.64), 2nd in K/9 (13.33), 3rd in ERA (1.27), 3rd in BB/9 (1.16), 4th in BB% (3.6%) and 4th in total strikeouts (115).
Mariners No. 2 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Ryan Sloan also made his first start since the MLB Futures Game on Saturday, tossing 5.0 innings with 3 hits allowed, no walks and 6 strikeouts.
He has thrown 4.0+ IP with 2-or-fewer earned runs allowed in 9 of his 15 starts this season.
Across his last 5 starts (6/13-c), he owns a 1.69 ERA (5 ER, 26.2 IP) with 32 strikeouts to 1 walk and a 0.83 WHIP.
Mariners No. 6 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Jonny Farmelo homered on Friday and Sunday, marking his first 2 home runs with Double-A Arkansas since being promoted on July 20.
Across 6 games with the Travs, he is batting .273 (6x22) with 3 runs, 2 doubles, 2 HR, 7 RBI, 4 walks and 1 stolen base, reaching base at a .385 clip while slugging .636 (1.021 OPS).
Hunter Fitz-Gerald clubbed his 23rd home run of the season on Saturday, T-3rd most HR in the Texas League.
His 76 RBI are 2nd-most in the league while his 52 extra-base hits (27 2B, 2 3B, 23 HR) lead the Texas League

High-A AquaSox vs Eugene Emeralds (San Francisco Giants affiliate)

Everett loses the series, two games to four.
It’s important to get every win that the guys can, with Spokane fighting with Everett for first place in the second half, so it’s unfortunate that the week went the way that it did. The whole series ended with Carter Dorighi taking over as a pitcher for 0.1 innings in a game where the Frogs lost 3-17, and I think his hopes of becoming a two-way player might be out of reach.
Reid Easterly had a fantastic 2.0 innings in game 5, striking out 5 batters, not allowing a hit or a walk, and earning his 5th hold of the season. This month, Easterly has only earned a single run (2 total runs) through the 13.0 innings he’s pitched, and has a July ERA of 0.69 (his season ERA currently sits at 3.02). Pitching has definitely been one of the weaker spots for Everett this month, but Easterly has been so reliable out of the pen to hold it down for a few innings.
In his first game after his promotion to Everett, Korbyn Dickerson went 2-4 with 2 runs, 2RBI, a walk, and a solo homer to prove how much he earned his spot. He got yet another homer in game 3, plus his first High-A double. I was looking forward to seeing these promotions, and Dickerson has already become such a strong addition to the team. I hope that the current team chemistry can even out so they can get locked in for the remainder of the season and take 1st in the second half, because they have a championship title to defend.
AquaSox notes
Brendan Donovan continued his minor league rehab assignment, going 2-for-14 across 3 games over the weekend.
He has made 8 rehab appearances between Triple-A Tacoma (2 G), the ACL Mariners (1 G) and High-A Everett (5 G) as he works his way back from the Injured List.
Donovan has been on the IL since May 16 due to a left groin muscle strain.
Mariners No. 7 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Luke Stevenson went 3-for-8 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI across 2 games played this weekend.
He extended a 7-game hitting streak (7/12-c), across which he is batting .367 (11x30) with 6 runs, 6 doubles, 2 home runs, 10 RBI, and 6 walks for a .472 on-base percentage and .767 slugging percentage (1.239 OPS).
Brandon Eike recorded a hit in Friday and Sunday’s games, extending his 8-game hitting streak (7/17-c) across which he is batting .300 (12x40) with 8 runs, 1 double, 1 triple, 5 HR, 12 RBI and a stolen base while slugging .750 (1.050 OPS).
Austin St. Laurent recorded a hit in both games played this weekend, extending a 13-game hitting streak (7/3-c), which is the longest active streak in the Northwest League.
He is batting .413 (19x46) with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 2 RBI, 4 walks, and 3 stolen bases for a 1.003 OPS across the 13-game hit streak.

Single-A 66ers vs Stockton Ports (Athletics affiliate)
(40-56, 3rd in CAL South)
Inland Empire loses the series, one game to five.
What an absolutely painful series for Inland Empire. Strikeouts really plagued them, with several games landing them in the double digits. In their one strong game, the 66ers took a strong 11-5 victory with 13H and 7K. If only they had been able to carry some of that power into the other games. I know a lot of their strength just got promoted, but there are still some solid players on the team who will hopefully keep them winning, so maybe they can end up not at the bottom of CAL South by the time the season winds down.
It was admittedly a bit of a slower series for Estevan Moreno this week, but he was still responsible for many of the team’s hits. In game 3, despite the 1-3 loss, Moreno went 3-4 with a double and a home run (11). There was only one game that he didn’t get at least a hit, and even then he got another RBI courtesy of a sac-fly.
Grant Jay earned his 10th home run with a grand slam in game 6, but Stockton narrowly took a 5-6 victory despite Jay’s efforts. Jay’s been reliable at bat, currently with a line of .249/.381/.482 with 35RBI from 48H. With some of the other 2025 draft selections, Jay is easy to overlook, but he’s definitely making a name for himself as one of the Mariners organization’s many catchers. Depending on how things start to shake out in the team’s higher up in the org, he’s almost certainly going to get a promotion to Everett next season.
66ers notes
Mariners 2025 Draft pick Grant Jay hit a grand slam in Sunday’s game, his 10th home run of the year.
Brayden Corn went 4-for-11 with 3 runs and 2 RBI across 3 games played this weekend.
He was promoted from the Arizona Complex League ahead of the 6-game series against Stockton.
Mariners No. 13 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Mason Peters returned to the mound for the first time since June 12 on Friday, tossing 1.0 scoreless inning with 3 walks allowed and 1 strikeout.
He owns a 1.38 ERA (7 ER, 45.2 IP) and 0.88 WHIP with 64 strikeouts to 11 walks allowed across 12 starts this season.
RHP Aiden Butler threw 5.0 innings of 1-run baseball (1 ER) on Sunday, allowing 3 hits and 1 walk with 2 strikeouts in his 17th appearance (16th start) of the season.
He has thrown 5.0+ IP with 1-or-fewer ER in 2 of his last 4 starts (also: 7/1).

Rookie-level
ACL Mariners Wrap-Up
(36-24, 1st in ACL West)
The team wrapped up their season 1st in the ACL West, and successfully secured a spot in the ACL Championship Series! Although they just barely lost to the ACL Reds and missed out on the ACL World Series, this team had such a strong season that I can’t help but be excited to see what these players will do as they get older and grow through the system.
Konni Durschlag only had 20AB with the ACL team this season, but he definitely made an impact. He came out of the season batting .400, with an OPS of 1.125, with 7 runs on 8 hits plus a stolen base for good measure. Most of his time (5 games) was spent in left field, where he had a fielding percentage of 1.000. It’s not much to go off of, but this definitely hints at a good addition to the batting roster in upcoming seasons, especially if he can get moved up to single or high-A baseball by next season.
The Beast himself, Yorger Bautista, ended the season with a slash line of .283/.345/.489 and 13RBI in just the month of July. With the ACL season winding down, it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest to see Bautista get moved up to Inland Empire to finish up the season with them. But, since he’s only 18 years old and this was his first professional season, there’s also the possibility that he’s done so he can rest and be ready for a longer 2027 season.
ACL Mariners notes
RHP Roberto Perez threw 7.0 scoreless innings, allowing just 1 hit with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts in the semifinal game.
He finished the regular season with a 2-0 record, 1 save, a 2.56 ERA (13 ER, 45.2 IP), a 0.96 WHIP and 10 walks to 42 strikeouts across 13 appearances (8 starts).
Mariners No. 9 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Yorger Bautista hit a 2-run HR in the 6th inning.
He finished the regular season hitting .283 (63x223) with 40 runs, 11 doubles, 4 triples, 9 HR, 47 RBI, 23 walks and 9 stolen bases for a .345 on-base percentage across 60 games played.
Among ACL hitters in the regular season, he ranked 6th in RBI (47), 5th in hits (63), and 8th in XBH (24).
Kelvin Alcantara went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a double in the semifinal game.
Across 58 regular season games played this season, he hit .297 (54x182) with 41 runs, 9 doubles, 9 HR, 39 RBI, and 31 walks for a .404 on-base percentage.
Mariners No. 8 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Nick Becker scored a run and drew a walk on Saturday.
Across 57 games in the ACL, he hit .274 (49x179) with 56 runs, 13 doubles, 3 triples, 5 HR, 22 RBI and 46 walks, reaching base at a .440 clip.
Among ACL hitters in the regular season, he ranked T-1st in walks (46), T-2nd in stolen bases (32), and 4th in runs (56).
DSL Mariners Wrap-Up
(22-17, 1st in DSL Southwest)
The DSL season is nearing its end, but with a few weeks to go, the rookies are still showing how hard they can keep hitting. In this last week, the DSL Mariners won two games and lost three, but are still above .500 and definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Juan Rijo just continues to get on base, finishing up the week with a slash line of .315/.440/.500 and adding on another 4 runs to his season total of 33. This 17-year-old has been very impressive this season, and is definitely someone that I’m looking forward to seeing come stateside and start in the professional leagues. He still has some time until we’ll likely see him make his debut with Inland Empire, but I’m sure he’ll just tear it up in ACL the moment he gets the chance.
Someone that I really hope gets to make his stateside debut next season in Dawel Joseph, and he’s definitely fighting for that opportunity. His batting averages over the last two seasons were .133 and .186, with roughly the same number of plate appearances, but this season he seems to have turned a corner. So far with 135AB, his slash line is .270/.433/.341, with 26RBI, 26R, and 13SB. In 2025, he only had 18RBI, so he’s already exceeded his efforts from last season.
The DSL Mariners sit in 1st in the DSL Southwest, which shows the strength of this group of guys and how well they have worked together this season. I know we’ll see just a bit more showing off from the team in their final few weeks, and I can’t wait to see just who else might start to shine.
DSL Mariners notes
Mariners No. 10 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Juan Rijo went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in Saturday’s game.
Across his first 37 professional games, the 17-year-old from the Dominican Republic is hitting .313 (40x128) with 35 runs, 11 doubles, 2 triples, 3 HR, 22 RBI, 27 walks and 8 stolen bases, reaching base at a .439 clip while slugging .500 (.939 OPS).
Cristian Alvarado threw 1.0 scoreless inning of relief with 1 strikeout on Saturday in his first appearance on the mound since June 24.
Across 8 appearances this season, he is 3-1 with a 1.15 ERA (2 ER, 15.2 IP), 0.89 WHIP and 8 strikeouts
