Mariners Minor League Weekly Wrap Up: April 14th-19th, 2026
By Berlin Kofoed
Seattle, WA - The week of April 14th-19th, 2026, for minor league affiliates of the Seattle Mariners saw just one series win, two series losses, and a split. A familiar starting pitcher for Mariners fans made his first start of his rehab assignment, the first of many with the local affiliates. Here’s a look at the past week of Mariners minor league baseball as the month of April winds down!
AAA Rainiers vs Sacramento River Cats (San Francisco Giants affiliate)
Rainers win the series, four games to two
After dropping the series last week, it’s good to see Tacoma bounce right back against the River Cats and take a series victory. A weather delay gave them a day of back-to-back shortened games, where they were victorious in both. After taking a 3-1 victory in the first game of that day, they came back even stronger in game 2 with an 8-1 win in the short game.
Star prospect Colt Emerson racked up the doubles during the week, which, paired with how well he’s been playing defense in the infield, just strengthens the belief that he’s going to be called up at some point in the near future. However, some wrist discomfort left Emerson behind in the Mariners' latest shuffling of players, but hopefully not for long. Seattle’s front office doesn’t want to rush Emerson’s timeline to the big leagues, and pairing that with the wrist issue is why the Mariners didn’t opt to bring Colt up just yet.
Bryce Miller started his rehab journey, where he only threw 33 pitches through two and two-thirds innings in his first appearance, striking out two batters but allowing three earned runs off of four hits and a walk. Four separate homers from the Rainiers’ lineup helped to protect Miller from a loss, along with Gabe Mosser going 5.1 innings and only allowing one more run during his time. Mosser earned his first win of the season with this game. With Miller’s run of injuries the last few years, I’m curious to see how his rehab assignment goes and where he ends up fitting back in with the Mariners, but it’s always great to see injured players begin that journey to build back up to full strength.
In addition to Emerson making great moves, Brock Rodden has quietly been raking and working hard on the field, and it would be crazy not to mention him. He finished out this series batting .311, earned his first homer of the season, and collected his ninth double. Rodden has always been a solid player, so seeing him fit in with the AAA team so easily has been a welcome sight.
Rainiers notes
Mariners No. 18 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Brock Rodden snapped his 5-game hit streak and 10-game on-base streak in Saturday’s game after going 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored on Friday night.
Brennan Davis went 4-for-4 with a homer, an RBI, and 2 runs...it’s the first time he has recorded four hits in a game since May 18, 2024, with Triple-A Iowa.
Colt Emerson slugged his second home run of the season to give Tacoma the lead in the bottom of the 5th on Saturday…finished 1-for-3 with a home run, RBI, walk, and a run scored to extend his on-base streak to 11 games, the longest by a Rainiers hitter this season.
RHP Houston Roth tossed 1.0 hitless innings of relief on Friday, extending a streak of 8.1 hitless innings to open the season, the most innings thrown by a minor league pitcher without a hit allowed this season.
LHP Jhonathan Díaz pitched 5.0 innings of 1-run ball on Sunday, allowing 4 hits, no walks, and 7 strikeouts... this is his 2nd outing this season with 1-or-fewer runs allowed.

Coming up for AAA Tacoma, the Rainiers will take on the Oklahoma City Comets (affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers) for a six-game series.
AA Travelers @ Tulsa Drills (Los Angeles Drillers affiliate)
Travelers lose the series, two games to four
Outside of game six in the series, the starting pitchers for Arkansas have been starting off very strongly so far. Combined through the first five games, the guys went 21.2 innings and allowed six total runs. Ryan Sloan only made it through one and two-thirds innings in game five before Abdiel Mendoza came in for three and a third innings to earn his first win of the season. In the final game of the series, where the Travs lost 3-11, starter Adam Leverett allowed four runs through three and two-thirds innings off seven hits. Reid VanScoter and Jason Ruffcorn tried to get some help, but they allowed another seven runs, and the game seemed to stop before they really got anything started.
Kade Anderson allowed his first run in his third appearance, but still made it through five innings with five strikeouts, further showing how spot on the front office was in drafting him as soon as they were able to give him that call.
Blake Rambusch is already at eight stolen bases, which is just Rambo doing Rambo things that I love seeing. He’s continuing to keep defense on lock while batting .324, which makes me wonder if he’ll get that chance to see Tacoma sooner rather than later, especially with the changes that the Tacoma lineup has seen recently.
Travelers notes
Mariners No. 2 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Kade Anderson spun 5.0 innings in his Friday night start, allowing 1 run (1 ER) on 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5 batters...he owns a 0.64 ranking, 4th among qualified Double-A pitchers.
Lazaro Montes recorded a hit in all 4 games over the weekend...he went 5-for-14 with 3 doubles, 2 walks, 2 RBI, and 2 runs over the stretch.
Hunter Fitz-Gerald led the offense in the team’s 12-5 blowout in game 1 of their doubleheader...he went 3-for-5 with 2 doubles 3 RBI and 1 run scored...he finished the weekend with 5 hits, 4 of which were for extra bases, 2 walks, 5 RBI, and 2 runs.
Blake Rambusch logged his 4th consecutive multi-hit game on Friday...he has reached base in all but 2 games this season...stole 2 bags over the weekend for his 7th and 8th of the season...his 8 stolen bases rank T-4th in the Texas League

Coming up for AA Arkansas, the Travelers face off against the Corpus Christi Hooks (affiliate of the Houston Astros) in a 6-game series.
High-A AquaSox @ Eugene Emeralds (San Francisco Giants affiliate)
AquaSox lose the series, two games to four
This was the first faceoff between Everett and the Eugene Emeralds after the Frogs took the win in the 2025 Northwest League Championships, and it absolutely didn’t go in Everett’s favor. Eugene has had such a strong team year after year, and 2026 seems to be no different. In some of these games, it felt like all the Frogs were doing was racking up the strikeouts, managing some runs here and there to at least be able to take those two wins, and it’s rough watching their at-bats.
Lucas Kelly has been a solid pitcher after a rough game on April 10th. Since that game, he hasn’t allowed a single run through his three and two-thirds innings over two games, only having one hit while putting up ten strikeouts. There hasn’t been much said about him since he got signed in July 2025, but he’s definitely someone to watch if this small sample size is anything to go by.
A runaway success of a player so far this season doesn’t come from one of the prospects that everyone knows. Instead, it’s coming from shortstop Carter Dorighi, a 2024 free agent signing that joined the Frogs halfway through 2025. Currently, he’s sitting at a comfortable .289 batting average, with 11 hits and four RBI through 38 at-bats (Ten games). He’s also sitting on the low end for strikeouts (Eight) with other batters already well into the double digits in just as many games.
Striking out continues to plague Everett. There aren’t many walks to balance out the totals, showing that they are just swinging and swinging without taking the time to see just what their opposing pitcher has in store for them. I know I sound like a broken record with this, but it’s something that Everett constantly struggles with during the seasons. The players are young and learning, sure, but sometimes when they are against a continually powerful team like Eugene, it just further highlights how far they have to go before they can really show themselves as a threat.
AquaSox notes
Mariners 2025 draft pick Luke Stevenson singled and drew a walk in the 7-4 Aquasox victory...his .353 batting average on the season ranks 2nd and his 1.048 OPS ranks 3rd in the Northwest League.
Brock Moore closed out Friday’s game with a spotless 1.0 inning of relief, striking out 3 consecutive batters.
Mariners No. 6 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Jonny Farmelo logged a hit in each game this weekend, swatting a double in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday.
Carter Dorighi bolstered his .395 OBP with 2 hits on the weekend and a 3-walk game on Friday.
Axel Sanchez had back-to-back multi-hit games on Saturday and Sunday...logged 3 home runs, 4 hits, 6 RBI, and 4 runs scored over the 2 games.
RHP Walter Ford allowed 3 runs on only 2 hits and 3 walks over 4.0 innings while striking out 4 batters

Coming up for High-A Everett, the AquaSox will take on the Spokane Indians (affiliate of the Colorado Rockies) in a 6-game series.
Single-A 66ers @ Visalia Rawhide (Arizona Diamondbacks affiliate)
66ers and Rawhide split the six-game series
The season is very early, and Inland Empire had a rough start, but after this series split, I’m starting to really see some flashes of strength from them. They’re still learning plate discipline, of course, and still striking out far more than they’re getting on base for the most part, but some names that I’m familiar with from 2025 are continuing to build talent that I was already familiar with.
Jack Bowery (who is a new name to me) earned his first win in game one after he came in for relief for two innings, and he nearly faced the minimum, striking out six of the seven batters he faced. That one remaining batter managed to draw a walk off him, but he was left stranded. He earned his second win a couple of days later, relieving Jackson Steensma in game six for another three innings, where he allowed a hit and two walks while also striking out six batters.
Another new-to-me name, Mason Peters, has been incredibly solid through his innings. So far, he’s gone 12 innings over three games, where he’s racked up 21 strikeouts and has only allowed seven hits and three walks total. His win-loss might be 0-0 at the moment, but once he starts making it deeper into games, I anticipate that win column to start to tick up pretty quickly.
Now, I am familiar with Ricardo Cova, and he’s come out of the gate as if he never took a break in the off-season. Through 59 at-bats, he’s batting .339 with an OPS of .873 with 20 hits and ten runs. In 2025, Cova ended with a batting average of .273 and an OPS of .719, someone who was definitely a powerhouse in the Single-A division. I would love to see him start getting the promotions he deserves, especially since he’s been with the Mariners organization since signing in 2021, starting in DSL-Mariners.
66ers notes
The 66ers pitching staff combined for a shutout on Sunday, with Jack Bowery coming out of the pen to record the win...Bowery allowed a hit, 2 walks, and struck out 6 batters over 3.0 innings...he owns a 1.00 ERA and 12 strikeouts over 9.0 IP.
Mariners top prospect Korbyn Dickerson recorded back-to-back multi-hit games on Friday and Sunday, taking a rest day on Saturday. • Ricardo Cova went 3-for-5 on Friday for his third 3+ hit game this season...he finished the game with a homer, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored.
Mariners No. 15 prospect (MLB Pipeline) Mason Peters allowed 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 7 batters over 4.0 innings in his Friday night start...owns a 0.83 ERA and 21 strikeouts on the season.
