Mariners and King 5 Team Up to Televise 10 Games Through 2026 Season for Free
By Charles Hamaker
Seattle, WA - Amid the confusion and frustration over how fans can watch their Seattle Mariners this season, there is a bit of good news regarding local broadcasts. Announced this morning, KING 5 has reached an agreement with the ballclub to televise 10 regular-season games for free over-the-air, beginning with the Friday, April 10th game when the Houston Astros come to town.
“This is an exhilarating moment for Mariners fans across the Pacific Northwest. Bringing games to local fans for free, over-the-air demonstrates our commitment to serving our local communities with impactful sports and programming. It’s exciting to strengthen Mariners’ fans local connection to the team and bring them closer to the heart of the game.”
These ten games will additionally air on KGW in Portland, KREM/KSKN in Spokane, KTVB in Boise, and other affiliate stations across the Pacific Northwest.
While ten of the games this season will be produced by MLB and the Mariners, with the feed aired on KING 5 for free, all regionally available games air on Mariners TV across major cable & satellite providers and stream with no local blackouts on Mariners.TV if you’re in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Alaska, Montana, or Hawaii, British Columbia, or Alberta, Canada. National exclusivities apply. Fans of the ballclub outside the Pacific Northwest can still watch games, but only on MLB.TV.
KING 5 and other participating affiliates across the region will deliver these games for free, sharing Mariners baseball with more than 4 million households in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and Hawaii. These games, which will still be broadcast on Mariners TV, will feature the standard Mariners regular-season announcers, including Aaron Goldsmith, Angie Mentink, Ryan Rowland-Smith, Dave Valle, Ryon Healy, and Brad Adam.
“On Deck,” KING 5’s exclusive program, will air on the Wednesday before each game, bringing fans closer to the players and “behind the scenes” of Mariners Baseball. While it’s just 10 games, this means KING 5 will add the Mariners to a strong list of Seattle professional sports teams on their channels. KING 5 is the Seahawks’ official local television partner, with two full shows dedicated to the team. KING 5 and KONG are the home of the vast majority of Kraken games throughout the season, with a new contract signed recently to extend that deal, and “Kraken Home Ice” is a running show dedicated to the team. Six Torrent games this inaugural season have already been broadcast on KING 5, and Seawolves games this upcoming season will be as well.
“We’re incredibly excited about our partnership with KING and remain committed to delivering our games to fans in ways they want to watch them. With 10 over-the-air games this season, along with a range of cable, satellite, and streaming options, we’re proud to offer Mariners fans more ways than ever to watch our games in 2026.”

Fans of the Mariners across the nation and around the globe have had to deal with some frustrating moments amid the fallout from MLB’s continued choice to take local broadcast negotiations right up to the days before Opening Day. Fans are still having some issues, with some SPECTRUM viewers not even getting the Mariners on their TV until the 31st of this month (Five games into the season), but this is a small bit of positive news in the meantime.
